Ho pranzato con Dio

Un bambino desiderava incontrare Dio. Sapeva che c’era tanta strada da fare, per incontrarLo, così riempì lo zainetto con merendine e aranciata e poi cominciò il suo viaggio.
Dopo circa tre isolàti, s’imbattè in una vecchia, che se ne stava lì al parco, seduta su una panchina a fissare i piccioni. Il bambino le si sedette accanto ed aprì lo zainetto per prendersi qualcosa da bere, quando notò che la vecchia sembrava affamata, così le offrì una merendina.
Lei l’accettò e gli sorrise con gratitudine. Il suo sorriso era così bello che il bambino lo voleva vedere ancora, così le offrì un’aranciata. La vecchia gli sorrise di nuovo, e il bambino ne era entusiasta!
Se ne restarono lì seduti per tutto il pomeriggio, a mangiare e sorridere, ma senza mai scambiarsi una sola parola. Poi si fece buio, e il bambino si rese conto di essere molto stanco, così si alzò per andarsene ma, dopo appena pochi passi, si voltò, corse verso la vecchia, e l’abbraccio forte-forte.
Lei gli fece il più grande sorriso che si sia mai visto.
Poco dopo, quando il bambino aprì la porta di casa sua, sua madre era stupita, tanta era la gioia che gli si poteva leggere in volto. Gli domandò: “Cos’hai fatto, oggi, che t’ha reso così felice?” Il bambino rispose: “Ho pranzato con Dio.” Poi, prima ancora che sua madre potesse rispondere, aggiunse: “Sai una cosa? Dio ha il più bel sorriso che abbia mai visto!”
Nel frattempo, la vecchia, pure lei raggiante di gioia, fece ritorno a casa sua. Suo figlio era sbalordito, nel vederla così in pace, e le domandò: “Mamma, cosa hai fatto oggi che ti ha resa così felice?” e lei rispose: “Ho mangiato merendine al parco con Dio.”. Poi, senza lasciare al figlio il tempo di rispondere, aggiunse: “Sai una cosa? Dio è molto più giovane di quel che mi aspettassi.”

Troppo spesso sottovalutiamo l’importanza di un tocco, di un sorriso, di una parola gentile, di un orecchio che ci presta ascolto; l’importanza anche del più piccolo gesto che dimostra affetto; tutte cose, queste, che potrebbero cambiarci la vita.
Le persone arrivano nella nostra vita per una ragione, per una stagione, o per tutta la vita. Abbracciamole tutte!

I had lunch with God

One child wanted to meet God knew there was long way to go to meet him, so a backpack filled with snacks and orange juice and then began his journey.

After about three blocks, he met an old woman, who was there at the park, sitting on a bench staring at the pigeons. The boy sat down beside him and opened the backpack to take a drink when he noticed that the old woman looked hungry, so he offered him a snack.
She accepted it and smiled gratefully. Her smile was so beautiful that the boy wanted to see again, so he offered him an orange. The old woman smiled again, and the boy was delighted!
He remained sitting there all afternoon, eating and smiling, but without ever exchanging a word. Then there was darkness, and the boy realized that he was very tired, so he got up to leave, but after just a few steps, turned and ran toward the old and embrace the strong-strong.
She had the biggest smile you ever saw.
Soon after, when the boy opened the door of his home, his mother was surprised, so great was the joy that could be read in his face. He asked, “What did you do today that made you so happy?” The child replied: “I had lunch with God” Then, even before his mother could respond, added: “You know what, God has the best smile I’ve ever seen!”
Meanwhile, the old woman, she also radiant with joy, returned to his home. His son was stunned to see her so peaceful, and asked, “Mom, what did you do today that made you so happy?” and she replied: “I ate snacks at the park with God.” Then, leaving the child time to respond, he added: “You know what, God is much younger than I expected.”

Too often we underestimate the importance of a touch, a smile, a kind word, an ear that listens, the importance of even the smallest gesture that shows affection, and all things, this, that could change your life.
People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
