Purpose of life
“Giving a purpose to our lives, it dampens the emotional capacity. If our life has a purpose to live a minute for a day for one year, instead of living for every minute, every day, every year. “
Oscar Wilde
The Meaning of Life
Life has no purpose. Do not panic. The whole idea of purpose is wrong: it comes from greed. Life is pure joy, of celebration, fun, laughter without a purpose. Life is an end in itself, has no other purpose. The moment you realize this, you know what is the theme of meditation. Is to live your life in a joyful, festive, totally, and without a final goal, no purpose in view, no purpose. Just like a child playing on the shore, collecting shells and colored stones: for what purpose? There is no purpose.
Osho
Always the man goes in search of the meaning of life and happiness, but what is the secret to find them? The response of the spiritual master Osho and meditation to this question sounds dense with meaning: the way ahead does not go for the accumulation of things, wealth or experience, because life itself is in itself the greatest gift we ever been done, and if we are here is not to our merit. Existence is a divine gift and that is why our attitude to it must be that of Baul, the maniac, who lives like a child singing and dancing, celebrating the reality for what it is, to the end. The Baul welcomes every aspect of reality because God is in everything, from the most humble and degraded the noblest, the lotus in the mud as it generates, in the wind, trees and clouds. The Baul has no need of temples and churches to worship God because his is the religion of love. There will then be chasing goals, ideals or solid, because we can all find happiness only within ourselves, in harmony with ourselves and the world.Love and meditation are the tools that Osho tells us to live an authentic life and conscious, free from slavery and drawings that the world and society impose on us

.. We claim that life must have meaning, but life is precisely the sense that we ourselves are willing to give it. As human beings we can only so imperfettto, tried with other religions and philosophies to meet that requirement so comforting. But such requests all lead to the same conclusion: life acquires meaning only through love. That is to say, as much as ‘we are capable of love and devotion, the more’ our life will be full of meaning.

The question that everyone asks as soon as intelligence is developed, is this: “Why am I here?” “What is the purpose of my life?”
Each being has a different idea about what the purpose of life. Some believe that the purpose of life consists in being virtuous, and, through the practice of virtue, be happy. But virtue, is it? There are things that we seem to be very virtuous, but others do not seem at all virtuous. What may be a virtue in fact may be a sin in another. And it seems very virtuous from the outside, it might be very different if you were to see inside.
Of a man with a rosary in his hand, sitting on the stairs of the sanctuary, the world will say: “He is very virtuous.” But even if it was inwardly very virtuous, the world will never give the virtuous a man who’s walking in the shallows or sitting in bars, for the simple fact that he sits in bars and walking in the slums.
There are lovers of God, and there are vendors If God in a temple sits a man with a long beard and a rosary in his hands, all will go to him, the holy man! He makes a show of his devotion, a business. Then there are those who love God no They do not profess love for God is written: “Be a friend to your extension, what is not important.”This behavior is rare in the world.
Let’s see how the lovers at the beginning, hiding their love. She does not pronounce his name in front of others. He does not pronounce her name in front of others. The longer hide his love to others who begins to love God! He does not mention the name of God
Some people believe has the power, the purpose of life. We see, however, that while some want power, others do not care at all. It is impossible that the purpose of God, Life, is something that not everyone wants. And if the power was the purpose of life, the most powerful should be eternally happy. The animals most powerful are the tiger and the lion. If we go where the tigers in the jungle, we see that the tiger is always restless, moves up and down continuously. Its power is so great as to give it rest. But if we go among the lambs, which are weak, innocent, defenseless, we see that the lambs play. A lamb does not want to ever have won on another lamb. If it scares, bows his head and goes into hiding. If you feed him approaching, eat, and gives you confidence. When he sleeps, he sleeps peacefully. But in the jungle where the tiger and the lion is heard roaring through the night. And a tiger does not allow another tiger to approach her. If you get a second tiger, the two will fight until one is dead, and it remains one. If you approach them during the day, you’ll see how their breathing is labored. That same breath that makes it more quiet and peaceful, does not give peace. She has no peace, no peace, no rest. Go in front of the cage of tigers, and you’ll see.
If power was the purpose of life, the happiest nation should be the most powerful. But is this so? Some believe it is the pleasure, the purpose of life: eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die. This is what everyone thinks at the end of the studies: “Let’s have fun and let us be merry, for tomorrow we may be dead.” But they can never be satisfied. If we go to the inn today, tomorrow we will want a more luxurious restaurant. If we travel by bus today, tomorrow we want our car. We want to potercela walk, all the theaters and all the restaurants. And who has health, or pockets always full, for all this fun? Even the rich can, not even the king. How long is a little pleasure.Something so short, so imperfect, can not be the purpose of God
Let us turn now to the tradition, and we will find in the Qur’an: “Know yourself and know God.” Another measure reads: “Know God in nature.” But in nature we do not find anything perfect, nothing we can call God, no perfect man, no perfect woman. Who is well educated, is not brave. Who is brave, knows nothing. If you have a great imagination, ignore those who are content pence in a shilling, and is deficient in this respect. If she is beautiful, then lack of intelligence and culture. If culture is not beauty. If you have a strong personality, not intelligence. If you are very intelligent so lacking in charm and has no personality.
In what aspect of nature so we can see God? You can see it in your nature, the ego, the self. As we can see God in the ego? Abandon tradition and look at it from the scientific point of view: we shall see that the self is first of all flesh, blood, bones, skin and breath holding everything together. The breath is life. When the breath left the body, life went on. It is the breath that gave shape to the body. And what is your breath? The breath is the sound. When it’s heavy, it is a sound that our ears can hear. When it is light, is a subtle sound that our ears can not hear. When a person we feel asleep snoring, breathing. If you go near a horse or a cow, and listen carefully, after a while you hear a subtle sound, breath. This shows that the breath is the sound, and it is through sound that was all. That’s why Hindus call it Brahman Wada, God-sound. In the Koran it is written “Kun faya Kun”, “Be, and became”.
Breath aside, if we look at ourselves, we will see that there is something else. There is something that bears witness to the breath. It is the consciousness that, in its individual aspect, we call soul. So a person, through his intellect, he knows to be an invisible being. Then he says to his soul: “You stayed so long frustrated by this body. You believed to be the body, but you’re not. You are a spirit.”
But then you think: “Maybe I’m not a spirit. Maybe it’s imagination. If I were a spirit I could go to Russia, I could go to New York. But I can not go to Russia or New York than with the steam and the train. And if I want to have news, I send a telegram. “
This is the perfection of which the Gospel speaks. “Be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect” means this: that the spirit is conscious of the body and the body is conscious of the spirit. When so, the man is perfect. The soul gives eternal life, the body becomes for him a means of experience. But men are conscious only of the body, or, if aware of the spirit, are only aware of that.
How to become aware of the spirit? Zeb-un-Nissa, our great Sufi poet, puts it this way: “You are a drop in the ocean. But if you keep thinking of the ocean, you will also be the ocean.” If we are aware only of our own as we are animals, trying to get everything to us, taking everything for us. Some also are conscious of their small group, or their families. Their family, their small group, worship them. Some are aware of their nation, their nation loves them. The prosperity of the nation is their prosperity, the collapse of the nation, their collapse. The Masters always rather have the whole of humanity in sight. You are aware that the whole of humanity. They think: “If I have not eaten, but my brother has eaten all is well. If I did not have anything, but my brother had, everything is fine.” Through the consciousness of the whole, the soul acquires its freedom. It is not forced in any place, is not constrained by any conditions. The more we open, the more we realize the purpose of life.
I personally met a court in Hyderabad, who sat all day in court, and during lunch she heard a boy singing in the street. In India the kids really enjoy singing in the street. The boy sang a song very vulgar. The judge sent for the boy and made him sing the song.He did sing it to him a second time, then a third, and again, many times. It was a very common song. The words were composed by a poet, nor the music was composed by a musician. He was a lover singing to his girlfriend: “You look at me like I want to eat it” very vulgar expression. The judge saw every day as the world tries to devour each other, to take the best, and the song moved him so much that from that day he retired to private life. He gave it all away and became a dervish.
This was the interpretation of the court, that the world-the-girl looked at him as if he wanted to eat it. This means that the attractions and temptations of the world are likely to consume the life of a person before it can wake up and realize the truth of his life. But this is not the true purpose of life. The true purpose of life is enlightenment. It’s the only thing that has value. The time of life, every effort should be devoted to it. To realize, to recognize God, who is inside.
Hali, a Hindu poet, puts it thus: “O eyes that you want to see God, look within, the God you worship around, is inside.” It means that the eyes should be facing inside, to see God within ourselves. The aim should be to recognize the God of man, and, realizing it, become free. To realize his life, independent and immortal, free from death and decay, free from anxieties, worries and sorrows of the world.
The purpose of life (2)
It is life itself to be the lead man to his end, and the man’s fault if it fails to achieve the purpose of life. It is a confusion that arises in seeing the variety of the world, when the soul wakes up after the birth on this earth. The man is perplexed and can not determine with certainty which should be the direction and the path most appropriate for your trip. So, very often, from youth to adulthood, this man remains in doubt. He believes that his path is sometimes spiritual, sometimes it is the commercial one, sometimes the way politics, sometimes this, sometimes that. But at the same time is not the fault of life, nor the spirit guide who runs constantly. In fact, in the cradle and the path of life a child begins to show the man, the way is shown in childhood. The confusion arises when man grows his being attracted by many things, and do not know what’s what, what is right, what is wrong.
There is no doubt that the first impression one gets an impression of the world is false. The boy opens his eyes in the sincerity and the first impression is false. This confuses him, and he also began the habit of denying what is right, and goes against every religious truth. Not a single person who is addressed, but thousands, millions of people. The child denies it, because the first impression is false. He grew up in falsehood, not knowing what is right and what is wrong, and sometimes this confusion lasts until the end of life.
In this regard, the distinguish which is the subject of a person’s life, Sa’ad offers a very instructive to “Every soul that is on earth, comes with a light already burning in him, for his work on earth” and if you do not know it, the fault lies with the world around him, not the spirit or nature.
If you inquire among the largest and worst tragedies of life, you will find that none is bigger than this. All the happiness, all wealth, all that the world has to offer, everything amounts to nothing. Power, possessions, everything that gives us the illusion that its owner is lucky. But nothing that the world has to offer is enough. The only thing really is just the blessing of Heaven, that light by which a person begins to see his path in life.
Before you judge the attitude of another person we must stop and think that we have the right to judge whether that is going in one direction, right or wrong. We can only judge ourselves, if we are going in a direction right or wrong, when we see our way ahead. As Jesus said “Judge not”. According to the Hindu custom of man are you attracted to four apparent objects, and feels that one of these is his life: Dharma, the Ardh, Karma, the Moksha.
1) The Dharma, duty. Sometimes a person devotes his whole life and everything he has someone who loves a brother, sister, mother, father, son or daughter, a prophet, a teacher, a muse, someone to believe in have a duty. It may be that the same path is a path right, desirable, good and virtuous one, and that another is a wrong way. But who has the right to call the wrong path of another? He is a man, how advanced it may be, the right to judge the path of another? This right can not have it, since everyone competes to solve the enigma.
2) The Ardh the earth. All that the earth can offer, wealth, possessions, position or power, all that the world can give, a person works for this, like this. He thinks: “This is the broad way, the practical way, the other is wise not to know the way, the right way!”and if we see the downside, major charities come from those who have worked in this way, and given. As you can judge and say that this is not the right way? Perhaps the way through which one has ascended to that position or wealth from where commands can not, for most of humanity, defined wrong.
3) The Way to Happiness, comfort, pleasure. The person seeking happiness, pleasure, comfort, often thinks of others, or at least it includes the like. He who sleeps in a forest of stone not know what the world wants, but one who seeks the happiness divide this happiness with others. He tortures himself can not share the happiness with others, since it is torturing himself. When will we see things from this point of view, tolerance and indulgence will arise in us towards all.
4) Moksha, the path along which we can advance all the religious and pious people. They seek to achieve a reward, happiness, in a future life. They think: “If life in this world is daunting, if our devotion, if our service here is useless, we will have a reward in the hereafter.” In any religion, any faith they belong to, as long as they remain on the path certainly accomplish something, perhaps more than those who expect a reward for tomorrow morning. Think of the patience you have and the good deeds they perform. And while a person who does good and is hoping for a reward of immediate danger of abandoning the right road, one who expects a reward in the hereafter, by contrast, remains on the right path.
Christ’s words, “Judge not” come to our aid in demonstrating the depth of the problem. The greater our understanding and we will see how the paths are granted to the temperaments. One is a path, one for another, but all go toward a goal. The goal is no different, it’s just the path to be different. And all these disputes and conflicts between people of different religions, each of which says: “My path is right, how can it be right, how can this be the idea of Christ? As soon as we judge a person break not only teaching but also the life of Christ. He has not only taught, she also lived what he taught. To him were brought people with all kinds of defects, and showed tolerance towards all and indulgence. Christ said: “Do not call me good.”
The greatest responsibility we have in life is to find our own path, the object of our lives, not waste time with others. Imagine that someone has a better purpose in life, and it is our friend, we must not pull back. If a person has a purpose in life seems to be worse, let us 0l’abbia, we must not pull it toward us. It does not matter whether at the time it seems a bad end, who knows that he has no lesson to be learned even from bad purpose. In life we learn many things from our mistakes and errors. If a person falls, learn from the fall. If a person mistakenly believed to an object, following sincerely finally arrive at the goal toward which the soul guides every individual.
One thing must be understood. As a rule of having the man show, in its nature, a certain childishness. This is childish dependence. What he wants is someone else that indicates the purpose of life, to tell him what is good. First, nobody has the right to tell him. Even if, by chance, the other is his father, his mother, his teacher, their first duty is to awaken in him the spirit capable of achieving the purpose of his life, saying, “This is the purpose of your life “, because the soul is free. Jelal-ud-Din Rumi says, “The soul is imprisoned in the mortal body, and it is his constant goal to be free and experience the freedom that is his true nature.” And as long as a person in the position of father or mother or teacher, or guardian, did not understand this principle, that every soul should be free to choose, not really able to help another.
In human nature there is also another defect as well all’infantilismo. No doubt it seems a natural defect. The man usually does not know what is your problem. Ask a doctor, and he says that in a hundred patients, hardly one can tell what did not go. They leave the task to the doctor to find out, impossible task. No one can know another’s desire, pain, ambition, desire, the longing of others continues. The work of the one who helps, advises, guides another must be to make that person capable of knowing. A good doctor will make that person able to express, perceive, realize what’s really wrong with him. Until a person has fully understood the problem, can not be helped.
And finally, what do we learn this subject? What do you suggest? We must cultivate in ourselves to act that way to understand our needs and afflictions, our work, our purpose. No doubt the goals that seem good or bad, are passengers. The real aim and purpose of all souls, good or evil appearing, wise or foolish that they seem, is that nostalgia and inner impulse towards’ one and only goal, the realization of the spiritual.A Hindu poet says, “There is nothing in the world that could meet the criteria perfectly, although there are things that can satisfy you at the moment.” So perfect is still dependent on the satisfaction by the ideal spiritual. And who cares the name by which it is called, be it God or Bhagwan? He is the only spirit in which and how we live and move.
And if we take the spiritual ideal as our objective recognized, this ideal will help us in all our wants and needs and in all afflictions, and at the same time this will be ideal to lift us from the density that sometimes keeps us connected. No matter which way the soul progresses, it is devotion, religion, or another way, as long as the ideal spiritual remains before us, as long as we have before us that the port towards which converge all souls; that peace, that joy constant that friend never left, that Father, Father always, here and there, that Mother, the Mother of all humanity, the ideal of perfect beauty. And keep that ideal before us, so that is reflected in our heart, is really the best way to realize the true purpose of human life.
