La verità
La verità è un soffio di vento:
fa spostare le nuvole del timore,
rende liberi tutti coloro
che sono stanchi di portare il peso dell’inganno.
Ma tu da solo hai bisogno di sostegno,

Uno studente di Zen andò da Bankei e gli espose un suo problema: «Maestro, io ho certe collere irrefrenabili. Come posso guarirne?».
«Hai qualcosa di molto strano davvero» disse Bankei. Fammi dunque vedere di che si tratta».
«Bè, così su due piedi non posso fartelo vedere» rispose l’altro.
«Quando potrai farmelo vedere?» domandò Bankei.
«Salta fuori quando meno me lo aspetto» rispose lo studente.
«Allora,» concluse Bankei «non dev’essere la tua vera natura. Se lo fosse, potresti mostrarmelo in qualunque momento. Quando sei nato non l’avevi, e non te l’hanno dato i tuoi genitori. Pensaci un po’ sopra».

A Zen student came to Bankei and complained: “Master, I have an ungovernable temper. How can I cure it?”
“You have something very strange,” replied Bankei. “Let me see what you have.”
“Just now I cannot show it to you,” replied the other.
“When can you show it to me?” asked Bankei.
“It arises unexpectedly,” replied the student.
“Then,” concluded Bankei, “it must not be your own true nature. If it were, you could show it to me at any time. When you were born you did not have it, and your parents did not give it to you. Think that over.”

69. Mangiare il rimprovero
Un giorno ci furono delle circostanze impreviste che fecero tardare i preparativi per il pranzo di Fugai, un maestro di Zen Soto, e dei suoi discepoli. Allora il cuoco andò in tutta fretta nel giardino, tagliò col suo coltello ricurvo le cime di certi ortaggi, le tritò ben bene e ne fece una zuppa, senza accorgersi che nella fretta aveva tagliuzzato con le verdure anche un pezzo di serpente.
Ai seguaci di Fugai quella zuppa sembrò la più buona che avessero mai mangiata. Ma quando il maestro trovò nella propria scodella la testa del serpente, chiamò il cuoco. «E questa che cos’è?» domandò, reggendo con due dita la testa del serpente.
«Oh, grazie, maestro» rispose il cuoco, prendendo il bocconcino e affrettandosi a mangiarlo.
Eating the Blame
Circumstances arose one day which delayed preperation of the dinner of a Soto Zen master, Fukai, and his followers. In haste the cook went to the garden with his curved knife and cut off the tops of green vegetables, chopped them together and made soup, unaware that in his haste he had included a part of a snake in the vegetables.
The followers of Fugai thought they never tasted such good soup. But when the master himself found the snake’s head in his bowl, he summoned the cook. “What is this?” he demanded, holding yo the head of the snake.
“Oh, thank you, master,” replied the cook, taking the morsel and eating it quickly.

ho trovato diamanti
soffusi ricordi e stelle
non sanno di esserlo
non provano a brillare
Piroette di vita
su un palcoscenico sgangherato
si affidano alla sorte
ad un grammo d’improvvisazione
Tutte le strade sono aperte oggi
di fronte ad una luna testimone
di immagini del tempo
Scorrono
senza senso apparente
allo scandire di lancette a ritroso
Anarchia totale
per il coraggio congenito
di questa marionetta
perché ha reciso i fili
di una sorte scritta da altri
consunto copione
dell’inganno e di ipocrisie ataviche
con le quali si sono costruiti mondi
Entropie in pulsazione
fanno a gara
con i virus inoculati
della paura e dell’illusione
Questi diamanti
sono prezzo e riscatto
di una libertà

Se avessimo grande sapienza
cammineremmo nella gran Via
e solo di agire temeremmo.
La gran Via è assai piana,
ma la gente preferisce i sentieri.
Quando il palazzo reale è troppo ben tenuto
i campi son del tutto incolti
e i granai son del tutto vuoti.
Indossar vesti eleganti e ricamate,
portare alla cintura spade acuminate,
rimpinzarsi di vivande e di bevande
e ricchezze e beni aver d’avanzo,
è sfarzo da ladrone.
