Lacrima
Ci sorprende
mentre si temeva,
sperando in silenzio
di non incontrarla mai:
eccola scivolare
come una cara sorella
che ti viene incontro,
nella crepa di quel muro,
costruito con fatica
mentre credevamo
ci potesse difendere.
Lacrima furtiva
che scioglie

É necessario conoscere il punto dove bisogna fermarsi, il punto al quale arrivare. Conoscendolo, si ha la tranquillità. Avendo la tranquillità, si ottiene la pace. Ottenendo la pace, si possono prendere le decisioni. Potendo prendere le decisioni, si può agire.

~

L’uomo non deve prendersi molta cura di ciò che ha scarsa importanza, e non deve prendersi scarsa cura di ciò che ha molta importanza.

~

L’uomo elevato si comporta sempre con criterio e attenzione, anche quando sta solo.

~

Volendo coltivare se stessi occorre prima regolare la propria mente. Questo vuol dire che quando si cade in preda alla collera, non è più possibile essere equilibrati. Lo stesso se si è preda della paura, della gioia e della malinconia. Quando si è preda di questi sentimenti la mente è come assente, e allora anche se si guarda non si vede, anche se si ascolta non si sente, anche se si mangia non si coglie il sapore dei cibi. Ecco perché volendo coltivare se stessi occorre anzi tutto regolare la propria mente.

Volendo gestire il regno occorre prima saper gestire la propria famiglia.

~

Quando un uomo comune gestisce il regno, danni e sciagure giungono insieme!

~

Il maestro disse: Parole astute e comportamenti subdoli hanno poco a che fare con l’elevazione dell’uomo.

Non è grave il fatto che gli uomini non ti conoscono. E grave il fatto che tu non li conosca.

~

Il maestro disse: Come è possibile non conoscere un uomo se si considerano le sue azioni e i motivi che le determinano? Se si comprende ciò che, gli dona gioia?

~

Volevano apprendere senza riflettere. È pericoloso riflettere senza apprendere.

~

A proposito dei sacrifici agli antenati e agli spiriti, Confucio diceva: Se non fossi io stesso a compiere i sacrifici, sarebbe come se non li facessi.

Se fai un torto al Cielo, nessuno può intercedere a tuo favore.

~

Gli uomini aborrono la povertà e l’indegnità. Ciò nonostante, queste cose non vanno evitate se per farlo occorre impiegare mezzi e modi contrari alla norma.

Il maestro disse: Chi è capace di moderarsi raramente si perde.

L’uomo elevato che desidera raggiungere un punto elevato cerca dì portare con sé anche gli altri. Volendo capire, cerca che anche gli altri capiscano. In questo sta la forza dell’elevazione spirituale: offrire se stesso come esempio.

Il maestro disse: Si può essere felici anche mangiando un cibo molto semplice, bevendo acqua schietta e avendo come cuscino unicamente il proprio braccio ripiegato. Le ricchezze e gli onori ottenuti sconvenientemente hanno per me il valore di nuvole nel vento.

Il maestro era cordiale ma con dignità, rigoroso ma mai duro, rispettava gli altri senza mai perde il rispetto di sé.

~

Si può istigare il popolo a seguire una causa, mai però a capirla.

~

Il maestro espresse l’intenzione di recarsi a vivere tra i barbari che risiedono a Est. Gli chiesero allora: Come puoi tu vivere tra i barbari? Confucio rispose: Dove abita un signore come possono esserci barbari?

Osservando il fiume scorrere il maestro disse: Le cose passano via come quest’acqua, senza fermarsi mai.

Il maestro disse: Aspettate che giunga la stagione del freddo, saprete allora che i pini e i cipressi non perdono le foglie.

Non lamentarsi della povertà è difficile. Non andare orgogliosi della ricchezza è facile.

Può mai avere paura chi, guardando in sé, non trova errori?

Il maestro disse: L’uomo elevato si sforza di rinsaldare negli altri gli aspetti positivi, mai quelli negativi. L’uomo comune fa il contrario.

~

L’uomo elevato ha dignità ma mai arroganza. L’uomo comune ha arroganza ma mai dignità.

~

Colui che sa essere costante, che sa perseverare, che ha misura nelle parole e autocontrollo, che mai alza la voce ebbene, costui si avvicina all’elevazione.

~

È nel disordine che occorre agire con temerarietà e parlare con prudenza. Nell’ordine si può invece sia parlare sia agire con temerarietà.

~

Non preoccuparti se gli uomini non ti conoscono: devi preoccuparti del perché non ti conoscono.

~

E quando non si sa vedere lontano che la disgrazia è vicina.

~

Come criticare, chi poco chiede agli altri e molto a se stesso?

~

Il maestro disse: L’uomo elevato ricerca se stesso. L’uomo comune cerca gli altri.

~

L’uomo elevato dimostra dignità e non si scontra con nessuno. È cordiale e non si lega a nessun partito.

~

Una piccola impazienza rovina un grande progetto.

~

L’uomo elevato si manifesta nelle grandi imprese.

L’uomo comune in quelle piccole.

~

Il maestro disse: L’uomo elevato è sicuro ma mai ostinato.

~

Se non si percorre la medesima strada com’è possibile darsi l’un l’altro dei consigli?

~

Quando parli è sufficiente che il significato sia chiaro.

~

Confucio disse: Tre cose vanno apprezzate e tre cose vanno disprezzate.

Le prime tre sono: saper trarre godimento dai riti e dalla musica; da un uomo che abbia esperienza della norma; da un uomo meritevole. Bisogna disprezzare il lusso, il soffermarsi nell’ozio, e la dissolutezza.

Trattare con uomini e donne comuni è assai difficile. Se li lasci avvicinare si dimostrano irrispettosi nei tuoi confronti, se invece li allontani dimostrano risentimento.

~

Non conosce gli uomini chi non sa vagliare le parole.

~

Gli errori dell’uomo elevato sono come eclissi di sole e di luna: tutti gli uomini possono vederli. Quando poi l’uomo elevato corregge se stesso, tutti possono rendersene conto.

~

Diceva Confucio che l’uomo rivela se stesso nel momento in cui porta il lutto per i propri genitori.

~

Non sempre l’ostentata dignità corrisponde a un comportamento elevato.

~

Nel lutto è importante il dolore. Null’altro!

~

Se il funzionario di stato è stufo del proprio incarico, si metta a studiare. Se lo studioso ne ha abbastanza del proprio lavoro, assuma un incarico nello stato.

~

L’uomo elevato presenta tre aspetti: da lontano è austero, da vicino è cordiale, quando parla è rigoroso.

~

Se chi comprende la norma non compie sforzi per diffonderla, e se chi si attiene alla norma lo fa esitando, allora poco importa che viva o che muoia.

E ad un albero fratello

La voce del silenzio

Ogni giorno attendo
la tua nuova voce
dove piccole tracce discrete
sono carezze liete
nella manifestazione
senza parole
Nulla rompe
questa percezione
incisa nel silenzio
come piccola goccia
lentamente scivola
sui petali di una rosa
E’ tenerezza senza nome
in un cerchio di sensazioni
seminate nella mia memoria
dove piccoli germogli ora
sono quell’offerta che
faranno bene alla mia anima
Con te accanto
è stato viaggio
ricco di sfumature
dove ogni nuova tappa
è stata un dono
nella nostra isola ideale
Poi è stato tempo di andare
senza fare rumore
senza neppure un saluto
a quella tua ultima stazione
dove è per me
la tua voce nel silenzio
Ora che sei altrove
perchè il tempo era scaduto
dove non esistono più
fatica e confusione
dove tutto è diverso
nella Luce di ogni istante
Io ti cerco e so che tu
potresti arrivare
da un momento all’altro
come piuma leggera
dalla vibrazione antica
per sorridermi ancora

The voice of silence

Every day I am waiting
your new entry
where small discrete tracks
as pleasurable caresses
in the event
without words
Nothing breaks
this perception
engraved in silence
as a small drop
 slowly slips
on the petals of a rose
It is nameless tenderness
in a circle of sensations
sown in my memory
where small buds now
 they are that offer that
make good for my soul
With you beside me
 it was trip
nuanced
where each new stage
It was a gift
In our ideal island
Then it was time to go
soundlessly
without even a greeting
that your last station
where it is for me
your voice in the silence
Now that you are elsewhere
because the time was up
where there are no more
fatigue and confusion
where everything is different
in light of all times
I seek you and I know you
you get
at any moment
like a light feather
from ancient vibration
to smile for me again

Elevazione spirituale
La metafora dell’elevazione spirituale corrisponde a questo fatto. Se cammino sul fianco di una montagna posso vedere prima un lago, poi, dopo qualche passo un bosco. Bisogna scegliere il lago o il bosco; se voglio vedere insieme lago e bosco, debbo salire più in alto.
Però, la montagna non esiste. E’ fatta di aria. Non si può salire: bisogna essere sollevati in alto.
Non ho in me il principio ascensionale. Non posso arrampicarmi nell’aria fino in cielo. Solo orientando il mio pensiero verso qualcosa di migliore di me, questo qualcosa mi trae verso l’alto.
[…]Questo effetto dell’orientazione del pensiero non è affatto paragonabile alla suggestione. Se io mi dico ogni mattina: “Io sono coraggiosa, io non ho paura”, posso diventare coraggiosa; ma di un coraggio che sarà conforme a ciò che nella mia attuale imperfezione mi rappresento con quel nome e che, quindi, non andrà oltre quella imperfezione. Sarà una modificazione sul medesimo piano, non una mutazione di piano.
La contraddizione è il criterio. Non è possibile procurare cose incomparabili con la suggestione. Solo la grazia lo può. Un essere tenero che diventa coraggioso per suggestione si indurisce, non di rado si amputa anche della sua tenerezza con una specie di selvaggio piacere. Solo la grazia può dare il coraggio lasciando intatta la tenerezza o dando la tenerezza lasciando intatto il coraggio.
