I due boscaioli

Due boscaioli lavoravano nella stessa foresta ad abbattere alberi. I tronchi erano imponenti, solidi e tenaci. I due boscaioli usavano le loro asce con identica bravura, ma con una diversa tecnica: il primo colpiva il suo albero con incredibile costanza, un colpo dietro l’altro, senza fermarsi se non per riprendere fiato e per rari secondi.
Il secondo boscaiolo faceva una discreta sosta ogni ora di lavoro.
Al tramonto, il primo boscaiolo era a metà del suo albero. Aveva sudato sangue e lacrime e non avrebbe resistito cinque minuti di più. Il secondo era incredibilmente al termine del suo tronco. Avevano cominciato insieme e i due alberi erano uguali!
Il primo boscaiolo non credeva a i suoi occhi: «Non ci capisco niente! Come hai fatto ad andare così veloce se ti fermavi tutte le ore?». L’altro sorrise: «Hai visto che mi fermavo ogni ora, ma quello che non hai visto è che approfittavo della sosta per affilare la mia ascia».

The two woodsmen

Two woodcutters working in the same forest to fell trees. The trunks were massive, solid and tough. The two woodsmen used their axes with the same skill, but with a different technique: the first hitting his tree with incredible perseverance, one shot after another, without pausing for breath, if not rare, and seconds.
The second woodcutter was a good break every hour of work.
At sunset, the woodcutter was the first half of his tree. He had sweated blood and tears and would not have survived five minutes more. The second was incredible at the end of its trunk. They started together and the two trees were the same!
The first lumberjack could not believe his eyes: “I do not understand anything! How did you go so fast if you stopped the clock? “. The other smiled: “You have seen that I would stop every hour, but what you have seen is that the stop took the opportunity to sharpen my ax.”
